New Delhi, July 19 A 34-year-old man riding a motorcycle was mowed down by a speeding vehicle in south-east Delhi's Okhla, police said on Sunday.

Victim Pradeep Kumar was rushed to the hospital by police after a compact SUV rammed his motorcycle to leave him severely injured around 7.30 pm on Saturday, but was declared brought dead by the hospital.

Police said Pradeep was a motor mechanic and a resident in Badarpur. He was going towards Kalkaji when the accident occurred near the ESI Hospital.

The biker was dragged on the road for several metres in the wake of the accident, police added.

A case was registered at Okhla police stations under Sections 279/304 of the IPC and accused driver Yashpal Bidhuri of Tughlaqabad arrested, DCP RP Meena said.
