New Delhi, July 25 A 39-year-old man in the national capital, who was drenched after a pothole water splashed on him from a moving car, decided to teach the errant driver a lesson and subsequently called the police but accused the alleged driver of some other crime, an official said on Monday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (outer) Sameer Sharma said a PCR call was received at Mundka police station on July 22 in which the caller stated that some person had run away after pointing a gun at him.

Immediately the police swung into action and rushed to the spot but the caller was not found there and even his mobile phone was switched off.

Seeing the gravity of the matter, as the incident was related to showing of firearms, a police team was constituted to probe the matter.

On July 23, the alleged caller was identified and contacted and later during interrogation, he disclosed that the previous day while he was on the way to his house on his motorcycle from his workplace via Mundka Red Light to Village Karala, a white-coloured Accent came from behind and he was splashed with water.

"Due to this, his clothes got ruined. He got angry and to teach a lesson to the Accent car driver he made a PCR call regarding showing off the pistol and thereafter he switched off his mobile phone," the DCP said.

Subsequently, the accused caller, who worked in a gas agency as mechanic, was booked by the police under section 182 of the Indian Penal Code.
