Amit Tiwari, 24, is among the Ind missing in the aftermath of the blast at the factory in Sudan. He was working as a supervisor at the factory for the last three years.
"We came to our native place in Bihar from Jaipur to attend a wedding in the family on December 3. He called me (from Sudan) between 8.30 to 9 a.m. I took his call lightly as we were busy in the wedding. I am still regretting that moment," Tiwari told .
"I contacted my uncle in Sudan who had got Amit employed in the factory there, when Amit did not call us for the entire day. He informed me about the incident. Since then I have been running pillar to post to find any clue about my brother."
Tiwari urged the state and Central governments to urgently look into the matter.
Apart from the 18 Indian workers confirmed killed in the blast at the "Seela" ceramic factory in Khartoum's Bahri area, many others from UP, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan were missing and it was a similar story at their homes too.
In Uttar Pradesh's Mau district, Rita, wife of Hari Nath, who is also missing after the blast, couldn't stop weeping while speaking to .
Hari Nath had called her in the morning that day and enquired the well-being of their children. "I have my daughter's wedding next month and I have no information about my husband," she said, adding "no relief has come from any government representative. I am very scared".
In Tamil Nadu, R. Sithalakshmi, sister of R. Ramakrishnan, who is also missing, told that they had submitted a petition to Nagapattinam Collector requesting him to get information about her younger brother, who was working in the company as Press Incharge.
The 25-year-old Ramakrishnan had completed a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
"His room mate told us Ramakrishnan is missing," said a sobbing Sithalakshmi, adding: "All in our family are in a bad condition after hearing the news."
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and other leaders had expressed their grief on the unfortunate incident.
