People from all sections of society on Saturday welcomed the historic Supreme Court verdict on Ayodhya title suit case hoping that the matter will be resolved once and for all.

"I welcome the judgement of the Supreme Court. I have already clarified that the apex court is supreme and whatever decision it takes will be welcomed. As far as 5 acre land for the construction of a mosque goes, we will have a meeting and discuss whether to accept it or not," All India Shia Personal Law Board member Maulana Yasub Abbas told .

Shia Waqf Board chairman Syed Waseem Rizvi also welcomed the verdict and said that Supreme Court has also accepted that the mosque in Ayodhya was built by Mir Baki and not by Babar.

"I welcome the decision to give the entire disputed land to Ramjanam Bhumi Nyas. It is worth mentioning that the court in its decision accepted that the mosque in Ayodhya was built by Mir Baki and not by Babar. This has always been our claim," Rizvi said.

The common people in Lucknow are also welcoming the verdict and are hoping that the matter is resolved for good this time.

The culture of Lucknow is widely appreciated in every part of the country. We have "Pahle Aap To Pahle Aap" (you first) tradition. So, the people here are very mature and the Supreme Court's decision is being accepted by all sections of the society," Rajesh, a local said.

In a unmous decision, a Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on Saturday said that a Central government-run trust will help the construction of a temple at 2.77 acres at the disputed site in Ayodhya and directed five-acre plot to be allotted to Sunni Waqf Board for construction of a mosque.

A five-judge constitution bench presided by Chief Justice Gogoi and comprising Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer passed the order on a bunch of petitions against an order of the Allahabad High Court which trifurcated the site between the parties -- Ramlalla Virajman, Sunni Central Waqf Board and Nirmohi Akhara.
