UP Shocker: Woman Injected with HIV-Infected Syringe by In-Laws Over Unmet Dowry Demands of ₹10 Lakh and SUV Car
In a shocking and horrifying incident in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly injected with an HIV-infected syringe by her in-laws after they were dissatisfied with the dowry her family provided. The woman’s father reported the incident to a local court, prompting a legal battle for justice.
The father recounted that his daughter was married off in February 2023, with the family giving her husband’s side a sub-compact SUV and ₹15 lakh in cash, totaling around ₹45 lakh. However, after the wedding, the groom’s family demanded an additional ₹10 lakh and a larger SUV. The harassment started immediately, and soon after, the woman was kicked out of her marital home on March 25, 2023. She had to stay with her parents for three months until the village panchayat intervened.
The situation took a darker turn in May 2024, when her in-laws allegedly forcibly injected her with an HIV-infected syringe. Following the attack, the woman’s health rapidly declined, and medical tests later confirmed that she had contracted HIV, though her husband tested negative.
Despite filing a complaint with the police, the family claims that both the local police and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) ignored their plea for help. As a result, the family sought legal action, prompting the court to order the police to file a criminal complaint against the in-laws involved in the heinous act.
