A heinous and shocking incident took place in UP's Rampur area where a 11-year-old deaf-mute girl got raped. The girl was found lying unconscious in field in the morning. Post incident the medical examination was done in which it was found that she had multiple injures on her body, including bite marks and cigarette burn marks on her private parts.
The incident took place in a Shahbad police station limits and girl was missing since had gone to relieve herself on Tuesday evening. Later she found naked and bleeding in the field. Police informed her family members about her condition after finding her, news agency PTI reported.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Jaipal Singh said the survivor was rushed to a hospital, and her condition is said to be stable. Following a rape report filed by the victim's mother, Rampur police arrested Dan Singh (24) after an encounter. According to NDTV, police identified Singh, from the same village as the victim, using CCTV footage. When police attempted to arrest him, Singh opened fire, and was injured in retaliatory firing. He sustained a bullet injury to his leg.
According to The Times of India, the doctor who examined the girl confirmed a rape, noting multiple injuries to her private parts and a swollen face from blunt force trauma. Her blood-stained clothes were also noted. The doctor described the crime as "one of the most horrific sexual crimes I have seen," adding the victim was terrified and unable to explain what happened.
Police Superintendent Vidya Sagar Mishra confirmed an FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act based on the survivor's complaint. Three teams have been formed to investigate.
Additional SP Atul Kumar Srivastava told TOI that police registered the case, arranged the girl's medical examination, and formed teams to apprehend the accused. He confirmed that Singh opened fire when police attempted to arrest him, resulting in police firing in self-defense. Srivastava stated they have electronic evidence showing Singh talking to the survivor outside her home before leading her away to where the rape occurred. The girl is currently receiving treatment.
