After 2 long months flight operations finally resumed in India amidst the coronavirus outbreak. After a detailed standard operating procedure was issued as guidelines for air travel a video of airport staff sanitizing the whole plane has gone viral on social media. The flight departed from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, Terminal-3 at 6:50 am. Meanwhile, after all the passengers deboarded the flight the entire cleaning process was done. The airport maintenance staff is ensuring effective stisation and disinfection of the entire terminal buildings, including the vital and high touch point areas.
All scheduled commercial passenger flights were suspended in India since March 25 when the Centre imposed a lockdown to contain the virus. Domestic flight operations resumed across the country from Monday except in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. On the first day of resumption of domestic passenger flight operations in the country, there have been 17 departures and five arrivals at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International airport on Monday till 9 am. Nine flights have also been cancelled at the last minute.
