The atmosphere in the state has heated up after the results of the West Bengal Assembly elections. The Bharatiya Janata Party has leveled serious allegations of violence against Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress. The BJP had also staged a nationwide agitation to protest against the post-poll violence in Bengal. A video has been released by BJP Bengal office bearers on Wednesday.

The video claims that a man named Manik Moitra was killed at Sitalkuchi. But the person the BJP has used in the video is Abro Banerjee, a journalist with a reputed news channel. BJP has released a list of 9 names after the violence in Bengal. Including the names of Momik Moitra, Mintu Burman. But no one was identified as Manik Moitra. The BJP has deleted the video from Twitter after a controversy erupted over it. But thousands of people had already watched the video. BJP released a 5.28 minute video on Wednesday. Which was tweeted from the BJP's Twitter handle. This video has been viewed by over 12,000 people. The photo in the video was of India Today journalist Abhro Banerjee.

In this case, Abhro Banerjee said, “It took me a while to get up this morning. Then I saw on my mobile that more than 100 missed calls came and went. I was shocked to see so many miscalls. Then a friend named Arvind called and said that the BJP's IT cell has used your photo instead of Manik Moitra's. "I was shocked to see this video," he said. I am 1400 km away from where the incident has supposedly happened."

Abhro Banerjee took to Twitter and clarified that he is still alive,"I am Abhro Banerjee, living and hale and hearty and around 1,300 km away from Sitalkuchi. BJP IT Cell is now claiming I am Manik Moitra and died in Sitalkuchi. Please don't believe these fake posts and please don't worry. I repeat: I am (still) alive"

A day after the Trinamool Congress emerged victorious in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Asansol was allegedly vandalised by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) alleged that 15-20 party goons of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee attacked ABVP West Bengal's Kolkata office and engaged in an altercation with the activists, assaulted them and vandalised the organization's state office. They further alleged that TMC party goons deliberately vandalised the idols of Hindu deities and freedom fighters.
