A woman was allegedly beaten up and attacked with acid on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district.

While briefing the media, Dharmraj Meena, Superintendent of Police, Panna, said, "A woman and her brother were beaten up, the woman was attacked with acid in her eyes. An eye drop has been put in the victim's eyes by some men of her village. We are probing the matter and will soon take strict action against the accused."

District Collector, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, said, "Under the instructions given by our Chief Minister, we are providing all the medical facilities to the victim. We are investigating the matter, the accused will not be spared."
