CIDCO Invites Bids to Operate Kharghar Valley Golf Course
Navi Mumbai: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has initiated the process of appointing an agency to manage operations at the Kharghar Valley Golf Course (KVGC), following its upgradation from a 9-hole to an 18-hole international championship-standard course. The planning authority has floated a tender to select an experienced operator to handle the daily operations of KVGC, including the driving range and golf academy, located in Sector 22, Kharghar. The selected agency will be appointed for three years.
The upgradation work, completed last year, has transformed KVGC into a premier golf destination. The 18-hole course has been open for play since October 2024 and features a newly constructed G+1 driving range structure with state-of-the-art facilities for golfers. CIDCO aims to enhance the golfing experience by bringing in an experienced operator through a competitive bidding process. According to Dr. Mukherjee, this project not only positions Navi Mumbai on the global sporting map but is also expected to boost tourism and the local economy, alongside other major infrastructure projects like the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.
KVGC boasts the country’s largest fairway, stretching 756 yards, and is the only public golf course in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). It is also the first public golf course to be built in MMR post-independence. The facility includes a world-class driving range with 29 hitting bays and full-fledged practice amenities.
The selected agency will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the golf course, including the upkeep of greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and equipment such as golf carts and machinery. Additionally, it will manage the driving range, golf academy, and short game area while implementing branding and revenue-enhancement strategies through advertising and sponsorships. Housekeeping services will be maintained to the highest standards, covering public facilities such as the clubhouse, toilet blocks, parking areas, and landscaping.
To qualify, bidders must have prior experience in operating and managing at least one 9-hole or 18-hole golf course. They should have also organized professional golf tournaments such as PGTI and IGU events, along with golf training camps, within the last seven years.
The upgrade to an 18-hole course is expected to be fully completed by December 23, further cementing KVGC’s status as a premier golfing destination.
