Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a temporary change in the water supply schedule on April 3, 2025, affecting several areas under the H-West ward, including Khar Danda Koliwada, Dandpada, Chuim Gaothan, Dr. Ambedkar Marg, Pali Gaothan, Pali Plateau, and parts of Bandra West and Khar West.
The disruption is due to the commissioning of a new 750 mm diameter main water pipeline for the Pali Hill Reservoir. The work will be carried out from 9:00 am to 12:00 midnight (15 hours) at Patwardhan Udyan, from 24th Road to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg, Bandra (West).
Affected Areas & Revised Water Supply Timings:
Bazar Area: No major impact
Water supply will start 30 minutes earlier than usual.
Regular timing: 6:00 AM – 9:30 AM
Revised timing: 5:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Khar Danda Area:
Includes Khar Danda Koliwada, Dandpada, Chuim Gaothan, parts of Gazdarbandh slums, and some areas of Khar West.
The water supply will be at lower pressure.
No timing change: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Dr. Ambedkar Marg Area:
Includes localities around Dr. Ambedkar Marg, Pali Gaothan, Pali Plateau, parts of Bandra West, and Khar West.
The water supply will be delayed by 2 hours.
Regular timing: 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Revised timing: 12:00 midnight – 3:00 AM
Precautionary Measures:
Residents in the affected areas are advised to store sufficient water in advance and use water judiciously during the change in supply timings. Additionally, for 4 to 5 days after the pipeline work, residents should filter and boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
The BMC has requested citizens' cooperation during this period to ensure a smooth execution of the project.
