Navi Mumbai: The APMC police have booked a 25-year-old man for allegedly attempting to record a woman while she was bathing in her home in Turbhe last November. The accused, identified as Mohammad Javed Sheikh, was residing in a building opposite the complainant and was known to her.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on November 11, 2024, between 11:00 AM and 11:30 AM. The accused allegedly placed his mobile phone near the bathroom window in a way that allowed him to record the complainant in a state of undress. She suspects that the recording was made while she was inside the bathroom.
Following her complaint, the APMC police registered a case against Sheikh under Section 77 of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita and have begun an investigation.
