APMC Police have arrested two Nigerian nationals for allegedly possessing narcotics with the intent to sell them. Officers seized 51.64 grams of cocaine, valued at Rs 20.65 lakh. This arrest is part of the intensified crackdown on narcotics under the Drug-Free Navi Mumbai Campaign led by Police Commissioner Milind Bharambe.

The accused have been identified as Ifeni Uzoma Ausondu (56) and Sajini Memory Gama (49), both South African nationals. They were found illegally carrying narcotics and were arrested on March 7, 2025.

According to police, the duo was apprehended after officers noticed a foreign man and woman behaving suspiciously within the APMC jurisdiction. Upon pursuit and a subsequent search, officers discovered the illicit substance in their possession.

A case has been registered against them at APMC Police Station under sections 8(c), 21(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act.

The operation was led by Senior Police Inspector Ajay Shinde, along with Police Inspector Mahesh Mandve, Assistant Police Inspectors Prabhakar Shivarkar and Pranita Bhakare, and other officers. Police have confirmed that further investigations are underway to uncover potential links to a larger drug network.
