CIDCO’s Vigilance Drive Nabs Illegal Debris Dumper in Navi Mumbai

Navi Mumbai– In a major crackdown on unauthorised debris dumping, CIDCO, in coordination with the police and vigilance teams, took action against a dumper truck driver caught illegally dumping hazardous waste in Ulwe.

During an operation conducted on February 10, 2025, at around 5:30 PM, CIDCO vigilance team found a dumper truck driven by Somar Mahto,44, a resident of Krishna Patil Chawl, Panvel, attempting to unload debris near Shantidevi Temple, Gavan, Panvel. The dumped material was identified as a potential threat to public health and the environment.

Following this, CIDCO officials, in collaboration with Nhava Sheva Police Station, registered a criminal case against Mahto under Sections 271 and 62 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 on the same day.

CIDCO has reiterated its commitment to maintaining environmental safety and has urged citizens to report any unauthorized dumping incidents via its official website or inform the nearest police station.

CIDCO has warned of strict action against violators, emphasizing that illegal dumping not only damages the environment but also poses serious health hazards to residents.
