Navi Mumbai: CIDCO Plans 350-Hectare Integrated Logistics Park Near JNPT, Invites Bids for Study

NAVI MUMBAI: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has floated a tender to appoint a consultant for conducting a Techno-Economic Feasibility Study and preparing a Master Plan for an Integrated Logistics Park (ILP) at Chirle Belondkar in Pushpak Node, Navi Mumbai.

The proposed logistics hub, spanning approximately 350 hectares, aims to offer world-class infrastructure for handling various categories of cargo. The selected consultant will undertake site analysis, market assessment, commercial feasibility studies, and develop a concept master plan along with a project viability report.

The initiative aligns with the National Logistics Policy, which seeks to modernize India’s logistics sector through policy reforms and the establishment of state-of-the-art logistics parks. Recognizing the sector’s growing significance, Maharashtra introduced the Maharashtra Logistics Park Policy (2018) to encourage large and medium-scale warehousing and logistics facilities, leveraging the state’s trade potential and addressing existing challenges.

With its strategic location near Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT)—one of Asia’s largest ports—CIDCO’s planned ILP is expected to play a crucial role in strengthening supply chain efficiency. The project will also benefit from strong multi-modal connectivity, including the Virar-Alibaug Multi-Modal Corridor, the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC), and the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL).

“MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region) is a high-consumption center with a strong demand and supply ecosystem. The proximity of Navi Mumbai to key demand hubs, coupled with excellent connectivity, makes it an ideal location for this logistics park,” a CIDCO official stated. "With the rapid growth of India's e-commerce sector and shrinking delivery timelines, the need for modern distribution centers near consumption hubs has never been greater."

As part of the feasibility study, the appointed consultant will conduct a detailed on-site and reconnaissance survey, including a drone survey to assess ground conditions, encumbrances, existing developments, connectivity corridors, and other geographical features.

This development marks another step in CIDCO’s efforts to transform Navi Mumbai into a logistics powerhouse, further boosting Maharashtra’s industrial and trade hub position.
