Kharghar: In a joint operation led by CIDCO's Chief Vigilance Officer, a dumper driver was caught red-handed while illegally dumping hazardous debris near Murbi Metro Station in Sector 24, Kharghar. The debris, considered harmful to human health and the environment, was being dumped on land owned or acquired by CIDCO.

The dumper was spotted at around 9:50 am on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. The driver, identified as Shivpujan Bhardwaj (53), a resident of Kharghar and originally from Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, was immediately arrested.

A case has been registered against Bhardwaj at Kharghar Police Station under Section 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

CIDCO officials, along with the Vigilance, Engineering, and Security Departments and the Navi Mumbai Police, are actively cracking down on such illegal activities to protect public health and the environment.

CIDCO has appealed to the public to report any unauthorized dumping activities via their official website www.cidco.maharashtra.gov.in or to inform the nearest police station.
