Water Bill Defaulters Get Reprieve: 50% Waiver on Penalties Announced
Navi Mumbai– The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has introduced an amnesty scheme offering a 50% waiver on late fees and penalties for residents and institutions with outstanding water bills. The scheme will be effective from March 21 to March 31, 2025, allowing customers to clear their dues at a reduced cost.
Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde announced the initiative, aimed at facilitating the recovery of pending water dues while providing financial relief to defaulters. The scheme applies to all categories of water consumers within the municipal limits, including Gram Panchayats along the Morbe Dam-Kalamboli water pipeline.
The NMMC has urged citizens to take advantage of this limited-period offer and clear their pending water bills by March 31, 2025, to avoid further penalties and legal action.
