NMMC razed unauthorised construciton partially in Airoli

Navi Mumbai – The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) conducted a demolition drive in Airoli after property owners failed to comply with prior notices regarding unauthorized constructions. In addition to the demolition, the civic body imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the property owner.

The action was carried out under the directives of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, with guidance from Additional Commissioner Dr. Rahul Gethe and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Mr. Bhagwat Doiphode.

The demolition targeted structures at G-53 and G-109 in Sector 03, Airoli, which had been constructed without obtaining the necessary approvals from NMMC. The civic body had earlier issued notices under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, instructing the owners to remove the illegal structures voluntarily. As they failed to comply, the demolition was partially carried out on February 27.

The operation involved using one gas cutter, three breakers, and eight laborers. It was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner Mr. Ankush Jadhav and Junior Engineer Mr. Sandeep Mhatre, along with other officials and staff from the Airoli division.

NMMC has warned that strict action will continue against unauthorized construction across the city. The administration has urged residents and builders to adhere to municipal regulations to avoid legal consequences.
