Ghansoli Encroachment Drive: Illegal Extensions Demolished by NMMC
The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Ghansoli, targeting unauthorized constructions that exceeded approved permissions. Despite receiving multiple notices from NMMC’s Encroachment Department, the property owners failed to comply.
As a result, under the directives of Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and the guidance of Additional Commissioner (2) Dr. Rahul Gethe and Deputy Commissioner (Encroachment) Mr. Bhagwat Doifode, the department took eviction action in the Ghansoli division.
In the jurisdiction of NMMC’s Ghansoli ward, property owners Sushant Subhash Thorat (Plot No. 277-278), Sushilkumar Radheshyam Barnwal (Plot No. 280-281), Jitendra Kumar Bindeshwari Prasad (Plot No. 282-283), and Amar Chalke (Plot No. 284-285) had initially obtained Occupancy Certificates from NMMC. However, they later constructed additional RCC columns and extended their row houses' front and rear sections, exceeding the approved building plan.
The operation deployed one JCB machine, five workers, and one pickup van to demolish these unauthorized extensions. The action was overseen by Ghansoli Division Assistant Officer Sanjay Tayde, Junior Engineer Rohit Thakre, personnel from the Encroachment Department, and a police team to ensure a smooth execution.
NMMC has reaffirmed its commitment to curbing unauthorized constructions and will intensify similar anti-encroachment actions moving forward.
