In a move aimed at enhancing civic services and promoting e-Governance, the Panvel Municipal Corporation launched the 'Panvel Connect' app on April 13. This app, designed for the residents of Panvel, will make municipal services more accessible and efficient by facilitating seamless communication between citizens and the administration.
The launch event, held at Lokneta D.B. Patil School, also featured several significant initiatives. The 'Panvel Connect' app will allow residents to request services, pay bills, report civic issues, and access local news from a single platform. It also offers emergency services, such as access to fire, police, and ambulance services, improving response times in critical situations.
Further enhancing the city's cleanliness efforts, the municipal corporation introduced 16 new, state-of-the-art refuse compactor vehicles. These vehicles will help streamline waste collection and transportation, ensuring cleaner streets and efficient waste management within the city.
A digital information broadcast board was also unveiled at the event. This new feature aims to keep citizens informed about ongoing municipal programs, services, and announcements, contributing to better civic engagement.
In line with the corporation's commitment to improving service delivery, four Maha-e Service Guarantee Centers were inaugurated. These centers are designed to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in service provision to the citizens of Panvel.
Commissioner Mangesh Chitle, in his address, emphasized the municipality's dedication to creating a transparent, citizen-centric administration. He noted that the introduction of the 'Panvel Connect' app and the enforcement of the Service Guarantee Act are significant steps toward this goal.
The event also included the inauguration of a grand job fair, organized in partnership with Nishken Foundation. Over 3,500 individuals registered for the event, with 1,736 candidates interviewed. A total of 872 candidates were selected, and 213 appointments were made. The highest annual package offered was ₹2.4 lakhs, providing a major boost to employment opportunities in Panvel.
The event was attended by prominent dignitaries, including MLA Prashant Thakur, former corporators, and senior municipal officials.
