In a major traffic enforcement initiative, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Department launched a special drive on April 4 to take action against vehicles causing obstruction and those parked in no-parking zones. The operation was conducted under the guidance of the Navi Mumbai Police Commissioner, the Joint Police Commissioner, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic).

As part of the drive, a total of 1,448 vehicles were penalized — 1,039 for obstructing the smooth flow of traffic and 409 for being parked in no-parking areas.

Officials from the traffic department stated that such drives will continue in the future to instill road discipline and ensure smooth vehicular movement across the city. They warned that strict action would be taken against drivers violating traffic norms or operating their vehicles irresponsibly.

The police have urged all motorists to adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with authorities in maintaining safe and orderly roads in Navi Mumbai.
