Approximately 5-kilometer vehicular jams were reported on Friday morning, March 21, on the Panvel-Sion Highway between Nerul LP Bridge and Belapur due to an accident near DY Patil Stadium. According to the news agency IANS, a container overturned on the busy highway, leading to heavy traffic.

Local and traffic police officials are on the scene and working to restore traffic flow. Cranes have been called to pull up the container truck. The reason for the accident is still under investigation, and further details are awaited.
Earlier on March 16, a minor and his parents were killed after their scooter and tanker collided on the Mumbai-Pune Highway in Panvel. The tanker fled the scene after the accident, leaving the vehicle, but was later arrested by police.
The accident occurred when the family was returning from Khopoli after celebrating the Holi festival at around 11 pm, when their motorcycle collided with a tanker truck near Kon Village.
