Navi Mumbai– In view of a high-profile VVIP visit scheduled for April 9, 2025, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has announced a temporary ban on heavy vehicles on key routes leading to and from the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT). The VVIP movement is expected to take place in the vicinity of Atal Setu, DP World CFS, SEZ areas, and JNPT, and commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly.
The directive, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, aims to ensure the smooth movement and security of the visiting dignitary. The traffic curbs will be effective from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM on April 9.
As per the official notification, all types of heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering, passing through, or parking on the following routes:
Gavan Phata Bridge to JNPT on the Panvel-JNPT National Highway (NH 4B)
Gavan Phata Bridge to JNPT Uran on the JNPT Uran to CBD Belapur State Highway (SH 54)
Atal Setu to JNPT and vice versa
The traffic division has clarified that the ban will not apply to emergency and essential services vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigades, police vehicles, and those transporting essential goods.
Traffic police have urged logistics companies and truck operators to cooperate with the temporary restrictions to ensure the success and security of the high-level visit.
