Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Traffic Department has issued a traffic advisory for the annual Maha Shivratri festival at the Shiv Temple in Sector 12, Kharghar. Vehicle entry and parking will be prohibited on certain roads, and alternate routes have been suggested to ease traffic flow.

The restrictions will be in effect from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM on February 26, 2025, to accommodate the large influx of devotees and prevent congestion in the area.

Road Closure:

Traffic will be completely restricted on the stretch from Navrang Bus Stop to Cheroba Temple during the mentioned time frame.

Alternative Routes:

  1. Vehicles heading from Navrang Bus Stop to Cheroba Temple should take a right turn at Navrang Bus Stop and proceed via Ryan School Road to reach their destination.
  2. Traffic from Navrang Bus Stop to Daily Bazaar Signal and beyond must take a left at Navrang Chowk and travel via Khargharcha Raja Ganpati Temple → Shivaji Maharaj Chowk → Shilp Chowk before continuing onward.
  3. Vehicles from Cheroba Temple to Bank of India Signal (Patel Heritage Building Signal) should use Ryan School Road, take a right turn after Ryan School, and head towards Navrang Bus Stop before proceeding.
  4. Another alternative route from Cheroba Temple to Bank of India Signal is via Ryan School Road → Sector 07.

No Parking Zones Declared:

To ensure smooth traffic movement, no parking will be enforced on:

  1. Bank of India to Navrang Chowk (both sides)
  2. Navrang Bus Stop to Ryan School to Cheroba Temple
  3. Navrang Chowk to Khargharcha Raja to Shivaji Chowk to Shilp Chowk
  4. Cheroba Temple to Daily Bazaar Signal Chowk

Exemptions:

The traffic restrictions will not apply to emergency and essential service vehicles, including police vehicles, ambulances, fire brigade trucks, and government vehicles.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, has urged citizens to cooperate with traffic authorities and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
