NMMC receices over 25000 applications for its recruitment drive for 620 posts within a week of launch
In just eight days since launching its massive recruitment drive, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has received over 25,000 applications for 620 permanent posts under Group-C and Group-D categories. This marks NMMC’s largest recruitment initiative since 2008 and is being conducted with an assurance of full transparency, according to civic officials.
The online application process, which began on March 28, has already seen an overwhelming response, with over 25,000 candidates registering within the first eight days. The deadline to submit online applications is May 11, 2025.
According to NMMC officials, the recruitment spans 30 different job categories, including Clerk-Typist, Accounts Clerk, Staff Nurse, Midwife, Junior Engineer, Aaya (caretaker), and Ward Boy, which collectively account for the highest number of vacancies.
Other positions include Biomedical Engineer, Garden Superintendent, Assistant PRO, Medical Social Worker, Dental Hygienist, Dialysis Specialist, Statistical Assistant, ECG Technician, Surgical Supervisor, Dietician, Ophthalmic Assistant, Pharmacist, Health Assistant (Female), Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, and Assistant Librarian.
The recruitment is based on a revised staffing pattern of 3,935 posts across 221 categories, which was approved by the state government in August 2017. Since 2008, no large-scale recruitment had been conducted, despite many employees retiring or receiving promotions, creating a backlog of vacancies.
“All recruitment details, including the schedule and job descriptions, are available on the official NMMC website: www.nmmc.gov.in,” said Sharad Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of the Administration Department, NMMC. “So far, more than 3,500 applicants have also paid the examination fees. We expect the number of applicants to cross one lakh.”
Examination Fees:
