Panvel Municipal Corporation Sets Record with Rs 370 Crore in Property Tax Collection for 2024-25

Panvel, March 20: The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has achieved an all-time high in property tax collection, amassing Rs 370 crore in the financial year 2024-25. This marks the highest revenue collection in PMC’s history, surpassing last year’s total of Rs 360 crore well ahead of schedule.

Thirteen dedicated recovery squads have been deployed across different wards, actively pursuing defaulters and issuing seizure and warrant notices.

In order to meet targets, Superintendents Mahesh Gaikwad and Sunil Bhoir, along with their teams, have been working tirelessly—even on weekends—without taking leave throughout March. Commissioner and Administrator Mangesh Chitale himself monitoring to maximize tax collections.

In a bid to curb financial losses, PMC has intensified recovery efforts in CIDCO-transferred areas, Marble Market, Jawahar Industrial Estate, Taloja Industrial Estate, and Panvel Industrial Estate. Strict action, including asset seizures, is being enforced against tax defaulters.

With daily collections averaging Rs1 crore, PMC officially broke last year’s record on March 19, securing the highest revenue ever. Given that property tax is a major financial resource for the corporation, citizens are urged to pay their dues promptly and cooperate with the administration.
