Thief Gatecrashes Pre-Wedding in Vashi, Steals Jewellery Worth Rs 14 Lakh from Parked Car, Arrested
A shocking incident of robbery took place in Vashi were the thief allegedly gate-crashed prewedding function and stole Rs 14 lakh worth jewelry from guest car. Last Sunday, Ankush Sargar (43), a resident of the area where the event was taking place, arrived at the venue shortly before 10 pm. He began by enjoying a large meal, soon after, he spotted a remote key of an SUV lying around the place. Then he unlocked the SUV and stole Rs 14 lakh worth of jewellery that had been kept inside the SUV and stashed it in a safe place.
As per the TOI report, after stealing the jewellery he came back to the place to keep key and got caught red-handed. Thane resident Paresh Pawar, owner of the SUV, left jewellery in his vehicle parked outside the venue. Pawar told police he left the SUV key to answer a phone call, and upon returning, saw a stranger replacing it.

When questioned about taking the key, the man gave evasive answers. Police were called, and the man confessed to stealing jewellery from the SUV, leading officers to its hiding place. He was served a notice but not arrested.
