Among the worst hit due to the coronavirus pandemic is sports as most of the major events have either been rescheduled or postponed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that 2020 Indian Premier League is suspended "until further notice". The annual Laver Cup between Europe and the Rest of the World is cancelled and will next be staged in September 2021. The governing body for cycling, the UCI, announces this year's Tour de France is delayed by two months and is now due to take place from 29 August to 20 September. The women's section of the Rogers Cup, scheduled for Montreal in August, is postponed until 2021. The Canadian Grand Prix, due to be held in Montreal on 14 June, is postponed - becoming the ninth race of the 2020 season to be affected.  Tokyo 2020 organisers cancel the exhibition of the Olympic Flame which was due to be on display in Fukushima until the end of April.

Technology

Even major technology events across the world have faced the brunt of the outbreak.Social networking giant Facebook announced last month that its annual F8 developer conference in San Jose, California, its biggest of the year, was cancelled over such concerns. Google soon followed suit cancelling its I/O developers event which was to be held in May. The Alphabet-owned company typically uses the event to announce big changes to its suite of products.Apple has gone online with its worldwide developers conference, a fate similar to Adobe Summit 2020. One of the other major tech events to be affected by COVID-19 is the Game Developers Conference which was to be held in March. A shorter form of the event is set to be held in August.

Entertainment

The entertainment industry has been steadily cancelling shoots as well as events due to pandemic. The 73rd edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, which was to be held in June has been cancelled. Meanwhile, no new dates have been announced for Edinburgh Film Festival being pushed from its original June schedule. Among movies, big releases such as Marvel’s New Mutants, Black Widow and F9 (Fast and Furious 9) have been postponed. In India the release dates of Sooryavanshi, 83, Radhe Your Most Wanted Bhai, and Coolie No 1 have been pushed ahead. On the other hand, movies like Baaghi 3 and Angrez Medium which released before have been forced to have a digital release.
