Nawaz is from Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. His father was a farmer and he is the eldest of his eight siblings.
Nawaz after completing his graduation following worked as a chemist in Vadodara for a year.
Nawaz moved to Delhi in search of a new job but was instantly drawn to acting after watching a play.
Nawaz's first marriage ended up in divorce and he is now married to Anjali Siddiqui who was his ex-girlfriend. The couple has two children together.
