Anu Aggarwal was born on 11 January 1969 in New Delhi, and was raised in Delhi. She was a gold medalist in sociology at Delhi University.[3] After a brief stint in modelling, and VJing, and appearance in the Doordarshan serial Isi Bahane (1988), she made her Bollywood debut with the musical blockbuster Aashiqui, following which she was much in demand.

Namrata Shirodkar was born on 22 January 1972 in a Maharashtrian family of Goan origin.She is the younger sister of actress Shilpa Shirodkar,and the grand daughter of noted Marathi actress Meenakshi Shirodkar, who starred in Brahmachari (1938).

She worked with almost all of the top actors of her time, including Rajesh Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Sunny Deol, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Aamir Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, Govinda and Aditya Pancholi.

Kulkarni made her film debut with the 1992 movie Tirangaa (film). In 1993, she starred in Aashiq Awara, which won her a Filmfare Award for Lux New Face of the Year. She went on to appear in many popular films such as Waqt Hamara Hai (1993), Krantiveer (1994), Karan Arjun (1995), Sabse Bada Khiladi (1995) and Baazi (1995). She mostly played the leading actor's love interest in all these films.

Raghavendra Rao's Telugu hit Allari Priyudu (1992), which was screened at the International Film Festival of India, in the mainstream section; Sangeeth Sivan's Malayalam hit Yodha (1992), and S. Shankar's Tamil hit Gentleman (1993).
