AIIMS study finds out Covid infection may impact semen quality in men

Corona virus has once again started making noise around the world. Shocking information has come for men infected with corona in the first, second and third waves. A research has revealed that the semen of men who got corona has decreased.

This research has not been done abroad but in India itself. The research was conducted by researchers from AIIMS Patna, Delhi and Mangalore, Andhra Pradesh. In this, it has been revealed that Corona has had a great impact on sperm power.

This research has been conducted on those who were admitted to AIIMS Patna during the period of October 2020 to April 2021 due to Corona. For this, 30 men aged 19 to 42 years were taken for semen analysis. Their sperm count was measured.

His semen was taken for the first time when he was infected with Corona. His sperm count was tested. After this, the semen of these people was taken again after one and a half months. The number of sperms in it was extremely reduced.

Semen contains sperm. It causes pregnancy. Semen analysis takes into account the number, size and speed of sperm. A study published in the Curious Journal of Medical Science found that 12 out of 30.

3 (10%) men showed a low sperm count in tests after 2½ months. At the first semen sample, 10 of 30 participants (33%) had less than 1.5 ml of semen (which should be between 1.5 and 5 ml per intercourse.).

Dr Satish P Dipankar advises to evaluate the semen of men who have contracted corona. He said that this research should continue until the semen quality is normal.
