First, whether the efficacy provided by antibodies induced by vaccines like Covaxin and Covishield really work against this variant and second if the antibodies induced by natural Covid infection defend against the Omicron strain.

'Isolating the whole Omicron strain from the sample is going to take at least a week. Thereafter, we will be able to take up a neutralisation study to assess the efficacy of Covaxin- and Covishield-induced antibodies and natural infection-induced antibodies against the lab-grown strain,' an ICMR official told Times of India.
