Then a day later i.e. on January 3, a case of stone pelting on the Vande Bharat train coming from Darjeeling came to light.9 / 12On January 20, stones were pelted on the Vande Bharat train from New Jalpaiguri to Howrah. While security measures are being taken by the railway administration, incidents of stone pelting on Vande Bharat trains are not ready to stop. A Hindi website has reported about this.10 / 12Several, opposition leaders have been requesting the Narendra Modi-led central government for launching the semi hi-speed Vande Bharat Express trains in their respective constituencies, ANI quoted a senior Railways official.11 / 12We are in receipt of requests from several MPs and MLAs. As of now out of 64 requests, more than 15 have come from those from opposition parties or opposition-ruled states,' he said.12 / 12While the Railway department expressed grave concern over the incidents of hurling stones at the train in the division of Bengaluru, they warned such an offence will invite a non-bailable offence.
