1 / 7After a long search conducted by the Delhi Police on Sunday for victim Shraddha Walkar’s remains, several parts of skull were recovered from the Mehrauli forest. Police also drained out the entire Maidan Garhi pond near the couple’s Mehrauli apartment on rent. Police also conducted a search of couple Shraddha Walkar and Aaftab Amin Poonawalla’s rented apartment, and recreated the crime scene.2 / 7According to sources, Shraddha's boyfriend and the alleged killer, Aftab Poonawala, told the investigating team that he had dumped his girlfriend's dismembered head in a pond.3 / 7Following the sensational disclosure, a team of officers from Delhi Police, along with personnel from Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), today started emptying out the water from a Mehrauli pond.4 / 7Shraddha and Aftab had moved to Delhi from Mumbai in May this year and were live-in partners at a rented apartment in Chhatarpur.5 / 7Following an argument over expenses and infidelity, Aftab reportedly strangled Shraddha to death.6 / 7 He later cut up her body into 35 pieces and kept them in a fridge at their apartment, before disposing them of in a jungle in Mehrauli over 18 days, police had said.7 / 7Police recovered 2 plastic bags from the house and the search comes a day ahead of Aaftab’s Narco test, to be conducted by Forensic Science lab on Monday. A Delhi Police team also called three persons in Maharashtra’s Palghar district to record their statements in connection with the case.
