ISRO chief S. Somnath recently tackled the long-standing question: Are we alone in the universe? While extensive research has been conducted, we still do not have a clear answer. Nevertheless, claims about extraterrestrial life continue to surface. In a recent statement, Somnath made an important declaration about the existence of aliens.

Somnath asserted that aliens definitely exist somewhere in the universe, with possible colonies in various locations. He highlighted the rapid technological advancements we have seen in the past century to support his viewpoint. What was once cutting-edge technology 100 years ago now seems outdated. Somnath introduced a concept known as "double alien civilization," implying a range of developmental stages among alien life.

He suggested an interesting thought experiment: imagine two civilizations—one that is 200 years behind us and another that is 1,000 years ahead. This scenario illustrates how diverse technological development might be among alien species. Somnath encourages us to think about humanity's future in light of potential technological progress over the next thousand years.

The ISRO chief believes that some alien civilizations could already be 1,000 years more advanced than us, potentially existing in the universe today. He speculated that they may be trying to communicate with us, but we have not yet been able to interpret their signals.

Somnath's perspective implies that life elsewhere in the universe could be significantly more advanced than human life. He stressed that, in the vastness of the universe, humanity is relatively new, making it reasonable to believe that advanced life forms and civilizations are widespread throughout the cosmos.
