From January 1, 12 per cent GST will be imposed on clothing and footwear. Earlier, only 5 per cent GST was levied on readymade garments and footwear. Apart from this, if you book a rickshaw from Ola or Uber app, you will be charged 5% GST on it.

India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) account holders will have to pay a limited cash withdrawal and deposit fee from January 1. 4 cash withdrawals per month will be free on savings accounts. Thereafter, every withdrawal will be charged at 0.50%. These charges are low.

The central government has now approved vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years. Vaccination campaign will start from January 3.
