Real life Hindi Medium: Man fakes poverty for son’s admission in prominent school

In 2017, a film starring noted actor Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar hit theatres. The movie, Hindi Medium, was about a rich couple faking poverty to get their child admitted to a high-profile school in New Delhi. It now seems that the story of the film was not far from reality.

According to the Hindustan newspaper, an inquiry by the school administration on suspicion revealed that the student's parents had allegedly faked poverty to get his son admitted to a prominent school.

The matter has now reached Patiala House court. Seven people, including the child's parents and grandfather have been accused in the case. The child used to come to school in his grandfather's expensive car. However, the grandfather was granted bail in the case as he said he was not idea about the case.

The boy's parents fled as soon as the matter came to light. At the same time, another revelation has come to light in this case that the accused has admitted the eldest child in some other well-known schools through fake means. Police have also registered a case in this regard.

Police are currently investigating the case and are looking for the accused's parents. Commenting on the case, the court said it was a serious offense. The names of some other accused may be revealed through these allegations.
