A toxic gas called styrene leaked from Visakha LG Polymer Company in Visakhapatnam. The leak has caused havoc in the city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.

Thousands of people have been reported sick after the incident and were evacuated.

“Nine people have died due to Vizag gas leak, 300 others are admitted at various hospitals,” said Visakhapatnam District Medical and Health Officer Tirumala Rao.

The local administration and naval personnel immediately started the rescue operation and evacuated the locals from the affected areas.

After the gas leak, the administration started an emergency cleaning work in the vicinity of the company.
