A Voter ID card is one of the most important documents issued by the government. It is also known as an election card issued by the Election Commission of India.
Voter ID card permits the holder to take part in elections and choose representatives who will govern the country.
The Indian Constitution gives all Indian citizens above the age of 18 the right to vote.
Visit the voter service official website https://www.nvsp.in/.
Now choose the “Correction of entries in electoral roll” option.Then select “Form 8” and the form will automatically open.Select the state, assembly, and constituency name.Fill in all the information asked in the form now click on the “Photograph” option.Enter your name, address, and Voter ID Card Number, and all the rest of your personal information.Now upload the supporting documents from your computer. Upload your latest passport size photograph.Once you upload the photo, you will be asked to enter your email ID, phone number, and place name.Enter the date you are submitting this request.Click on the “Submit” button.
You will get a confirmation message to your registered mobile number and email ID.
Now, you can also apply for a duplicate card from the comfort of your home and complete all the formalities without having to visit the electoral office each time.
Initially, voter IDs were printed with black ink on regular paper and laminated. Starting in 2015,[3] the Indian government started rolling out a less perishable PVC colour version, compliant with the ISO/IEC 7810 size standard.
One has to apply on prescribed Form-6 of Election Commission attached with proof of ID, Indian nationality, age and residence
