Vehicle Scrap Policy: The Scrapped vehicle will also get great benefits and discounts; Know the process

The central government has introduced a scrapping policy to remove old vehicles from the roads.

It is reported that if the old car is scraped the new car will get a 5% discount. There will be no charge for the registration of the new vehicle in RTO. In Delhi, a diesel car will have to be scrapped after 10 years.

If anyone buys a new car worth rupees 10lakh they will get a discount of Rs 50,000 on ex-showroom price. Also the registration cost of Rs. 1 lakh will be saved.

Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), Insurance, Fitness Certificate will have to be brought along with all the documents related to the vehicle before taking it to the vehicle scrap center. You will also need to bring your own driving license and identity card.

10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles will have to be scrapped if they fail the fitness test.

After the vehicle fails in this test, the vehicle has to be deposited at the nearest scrap facility. Such centers are likely to start in all the major cities.

You will also receive a vehicle destruction certificate after the vehicle is scrapped. It has to be deposited in RTO. The vehicle will then be delisted and no one will be able to use this registration number in the future.
