Himachal CM, ministers to take 30pc pay cut

The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, on Tuesday decided to reduce salaries and honorariums of the Council of Ministers and legislators by 30 per cent for a year.

Shimla, April 7 The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, on Tuesday decided to reduce salaries and honorariums of the Council of Ministers and legislators by 30 per cent for a year.

The money would be used to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 in the state.

The Vidhan Sabha Speaker and the Deputy Speaker, top functionaries of all state boards and corporations and political appointees were also included in the salary cut, an official said.

The Cabinet also decided to suspend the discretionary funds allocated to the legislators for two years.
