Shimla, July 10 The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet on Friday decided to engage 7,852 part-time multi-task workers in government schools who will be paid an honorarium.

The Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, gave the nod to the draft policy for engaging 7,852 unemployed youths, an official statement said.

They will be paid an honorarium of Rs 31.25 per hour for six hours per day for 10 months in a year.

The Cabinet at its meeting here decided to enhance the honorarium of part-time water carriers engaged in the Elementary and Higher Education Departments from Rs 2,400 to Rs 2,700 per month.

The Cabinet decided to provide the Loktantra Prahari Samman Rashi of Rs 8,000 per month to those who have undergone 1-15 days of incarceration and Rs 12,000 per month to those who have undergone 15 days or above incarceration during the Emergency.

The amount will be given as a token of respect for standing for democracy and fundamental rights.

It also gave consent to establish a training academy in Sarkaghat area in Mandi district to train those who are willing to join the defence and paramilitary forces.

To promote horticulture, the Cabinet decided to open a division in the state capital. All the existing sub-divisions of horticulture would be brought under the administrative control of the new division.

This new division would ensure roadside plantation and slope stability activities through bio-engineering technology.

To promote ease-of-doing business, the Cabinet approved the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Himachal Pradesh (Amendment) Rules of 2019.

It gave its nod to hire Ernst and Young for providing consultancy services for the implementation of the state business reforms action plan and investment promotion.
