Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 26 State BJP president K.Surendran on Saturday said he has said a polite no to the Kerala Police who rang him up to say that he will now be provided armed security from the Kerala Police.

"I do not have any threat from anywhere and the only one is the threat from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. I have never asked for any security and I do not need any security from Kerala Police," said Surendran.

It was on September 22nd that the Intelligence wing of the Kerala Police decided to extend an offer for armed police security to Surendran.

Earlier this month, Vijayan, in the course of his routine daily Covid review press briefing, lost his cool when the media raised certain allegations levelled by Surendran and said, " He ( Surendran) will be appropriately dealt with, but it would not be through a press meet."

Soon after this remark from Vijayan, state BJP leaders expressed their ire against this remark.

"One day Vijayan threatens me and the next day, I am given a security, I really do not know what's happening here," added Surendran.
