A number of political leaders from India paid rich tributes to late actor Irrfan Khan on Twitter. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal  has expressed grief on the sad demise of Bollywood and International actor Irrfan Khan. Sharing his thoughts on micro-blogging site Twitter,Kejriwal wrote, “Shocked to hear of the demise of Irrfan Khan, one of the most exceptional actors of our time. May his work always be remembered and his soul rest in peace,” 

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot also expressed his condolences. He wrote on Twitter: "I am saddened and shocked to know about the untimely demise of one of our country's most versatile actors, Irrfan Khan. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. May God give them strength. May his soul rest in peace. Irrfan Khan was one of the most talented actors of Rajasthan, who rose to heights on basis of his acting. He would always remain an inspiration for theatre artists & budding actors in Rajasthan."Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also expressed his condolence through a Twitter message. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar too reacted: "Irfan Khan was a versatile actor. Sorry to hear about his demise. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans. Om Shanti."Congress leader and former Union minister Shashi Tharoor wrote on Twitter: "Saddened beyond measure by the passing of a human being I had never met, but who gladdened my heart and the hearts of millions with his incandescent talent. RIP @irrfank, gone when he had so much more to give." Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed his condolences. The entire Bollywood industry is in a state of shock as Angrezi Medium actor breathed his last in Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital. The 53 year old actor was rushed to the hospital lately after his health deteriorated and was admitted in the ICU.
