The number of Guillain-Barré Syndrome cases in Pune district rose to 212 after one new case was reported on Thursday. Health officials confirmed that 183 patients have tested positive for GBS, while 27 remain suspected cases.
So far, 152 patients have recovered and been discharged, including eight in the past 24 hours. No new deaths were reported on Thursday. The total death toll stands at 11, with four confirmed GBS-related deaths and seven classified as suspected cases.
According to the health department, Pune city, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and rural areas have reported a total of 212 cases. Of these, 42 cases are in the Pune Municipal Corporation area. The highest number of cases, 95, have been reported from merged villages. Pimpri-Chinchwad has recorded 32 cases, Pune’s rural region has 33, and 10 cases are from other districts.
Currently, 32 patients are receiving treatment in intensive care units. Of these, 16 are on ventilator support, according to the health department.
