Pune, Maharashtra (April 12, 2025): A 15-year-old girl who had recently appeared for her Class 10 board exams died by suicide at her home in Korhale Khurd village of Baramati after being allegedly harassed and threatened by four men. According to Wadgaon Nimbalkar police, the main accused, Vishal Dattatray Gawade, along with his associates — Pravin Namdev Gawade, Shubham Satish Gawade and Sunil Hanumant Khomane — had been stalking and mentally harassing the girl for several months.
The girl was frequently threatened through text messages. Police said the accused told her that if she did not talk to him, her family members would be killed. The group allegedly showed weapons to create fear and force her into speaking with them.
On April 7, the accused threatened the girl again, saying if she did not marry him before the village fair, he would kill her parents. Scared and unable to bear the continuous pressure and threats, the girl ended her life by hanging herself at home.
A case has been registered at Wadgaon Nimbalkar police station. Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sudarshan Rathod is leading the investigation.
