Pune, Maharashtra (February 12, 2025): A student from Jadhavar College in Narhe allegedly attempted suicide due to stress from the Class 12 exams. The injured student has been identified as Ayush Jadhav, 18, a resident of Vadgaon. Jadhav reportedly jumped from the second-floor window of the exam room during the morning session of the English paper on Tuesday. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment.

The incident occurred on the first day of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) class 12 exams. The exams are being conducted by nine zonal boards including Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. This year, students from 10,550 junior colleges are registered, with exams being held at 3,373 main centres.
