A 21-year-old computer science student at DY Patil College in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, is in critical condition after attempting suicide by jumping from the Sant Tukaram Nagar Metro Station on Monday evening.
The incident occurred around 6 pm. While the precise motive remains unclear, police are investigating. Friends of the student told authorities that he had been experiencing financial difficulties and family pressure. He is currently receiving treatment at Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital.
“The exact reason for the attempt of suicide is unknown, but his friends informed that he was under some financial problem and had pressure from his family,” said senior police inspector Ashok Kadlag from Pimpri Chinchwad Police. “The incident occurred at around 6 pm, and the boy is in critical condition at YCM Hospital. We are investigating the matter,” he added.
