Pune Crime: 26-Year-Old Man Brutally Killed Over Property Dispute in Santosh Nagar, 3 Booked
Pune, Maharashtra (April 20, 2025): A 26-year-old man was brutally killed over a property dispute in Pune’s Santosh Nagar area early Sunday morning, just days after a similar violent incident in the Chandangar area. The victim has been identified as Shubham Subhash Chavan. According to police, the incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. under the jurisdiction of the Ambegaon police station. A complaint in the case has been registered by Amol Chavan.
Police said Shubham was leaving the Santosh Nagar area when the accused, Amar and his accomplices, confronted him near the Om Sai Mitra Mandal. They began abusing and assaulting him. Shubham tried to escape, but the attackers chased him down. The accused allegedly beat him severely with bamboo sticks and wooden rods. They later struck him on the head with a stone, which led to his death on the spot.
Shubham's friends informed his family, who then contacted the police. A case has been registered at Ambegaon police station against three accused based on the complaint. Initial investigation revealed that Shubham and Amar had a dispute over a nearby property. Police suspect this dispute led to the murder. Amar has a past criminal record, including a body offence case registered against him in 2010. Five police teams have been formed to track down the suspects. Police visited the crime scene and are conducting further investigation.
