The public faced inconvenience as protesters disrupted metro services by descending onto the tracks near the Pune Municipal Corporation station, demanding free education and job opportunities. On Friday, the court rejected the bail applications of nine women protesters, ruling that they could not be granted bail solely on the basis of their gender. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate J.S. Bhatia issued the order.
The nine women, currently in judicial custody, had applied for bail. Government prosecutor Shridhar Javale opposed their release on behalf of the state, arguing that the crime committed was of a serious nature. He further stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that granting bail at this stage would not be appropriate. The court accepted this argument and denied bail to the accused.

Meanwhile, eight additional accused, including the main suspect, Narendra Pavtekar, have been remanded to judicial custody.
